Martinique – Cheap Eats

“Located within the Market Place, Chez Charole is a traditional Creole restaurant run by a charming woman who makes every guest feel right at home.
Conch fritters, lambi, and a number of other traditional creole dishes served here are a great way to take a break from the bustling nature of the marketplace and grab a filling bite to eat. Chez Carole is a bar and grill where they proudly serve their take on Creole cuisine. As far as service and setting, you can expect the formality to be very casual. The option to eat here is on the table during lunch only, so plan ahead to catch their brief service.” – Caribya.com

“If perusing the Poterie Village, look no farther for a lunch spot or a tea break. This patisserie–salon de thé is on the right, as you first enter the village. In fact, you might make this your daytime go-to restaurant if you are staying in Trois Ilets. When you open the front door, the aromas of fresh-baked goods will have you pressing your finger against the glass display case, euros clutched in your left hand, just like a little kid. Lunch can be a quiche (many varieties), pizza, or creative sandwich, and if you clean your plate then you can be rewarded with a Viennoiserie. Only French butter is used and all products are made in an artisanal manner. Table seating but not waiter service as such.” – Fodors.com

“We love this hilltop shack with dazzling sea views, where seasonal ingredients are paired with the catch of the day and a small, great-value and wonderfully tasty menu is newly created each day. There’s more than a slight hippyish air, and vegetarians are well provided for. Try the excellent mix-plates and don’t miss the plantain salad, the house specialty.”- Lonelyplanet.com
