Turks & Caicos – Fine Dining

Bay Bistro
“You simply can’t eat any closer to the beach than here at Bay Bistro, directly on Grace Bay Beach. You have the option of dining on a covered deck, on an open-air patio, or with your feet in the sand, surrounded by palm trees with the sound of lapping waves. The coffee-rubbed tuna appetizer—with a hint of wasabi—is the best. Their fish-and-chips are quite lovely, and for the carnivore, the beef tenderloin is to die for. Seasonally, lobster is brought to their back door daily by local fishermen. End the evening with homemade ice cream. Their weekend brunches include such favorites as eggs Benedict—one of the few places on island to find it—with mimosas included. Be sure to reserve if you are coming with a large group, as it is quite a popular way to begin a lazy day. Around the time of the full moon, call for the date of their memorable beach barbecue: grilled shrimp, roast suckling pig, side fixings—all enjoyed while sitting around a wonderful bonfire on the beach.” – Fodors.com

Coco Bistro
“With tables exotically set within a mature palm grove, Coco Bistro is one of the most popular restaurants on Provo. Main courses combine continental dishes with a Caribbean flair, and seafood abounds. Be sure to try their Caicos lobster bisque; it’s flambé style with cognac and a hint of spicy cream. The roast rack of lamb with an herb crust is also amazing. This is a must-visit, so be sure to make reservations at least one week ahead during nonpeak season, two to three weeks ahead in peak season.” – Fodors.com

Infiniti
“This chic palapa-style, waterfront, open-air restaurant has the most romantic setting along Grace Bay, and for most, in all of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Despite its elite clientele and higher prices, the restaurant offers a memorable dining experience minus any formality or attitude; guests are expected to wear island chic (men, no sleeveless shirts please). Oil lamps create an evening glow, and the murmur of trade winds adds to the Edenic ambience. Mesmerizing ocean views, along with exquisite service, make this an ideal choice when you want the best without a care in the world. The kitchen uses the island’s bountiful seafood and fresh produce to craft superb cuisine. They also offer a raw bar, featuring a variety of ceviches: scallops, salmon, and mahimahi. It’s a good thing the setting is amazing, as the portions are “elegantly” sized.” – Fodors.com

Hemingway’s on the Beach
“The casual yet gorgeous setting, with a patio and deck offering unobstructed views of Grace Bay, makes this one of the most popular tourist restaurants. At lunch you can’t miss with the soft grouper tacos or fish-and-chips. The mango shrimp salad is also excellent. For dinner there is a great kids’ menu as well. Order the popular Old Man and the Sea, which features the fresh fish of the day. If you’re on a budget, go right before 6 pm, when you can still order the less expensive lunch menu items. Live music a couple of nights a week adds to the ambience. Ask when Brentford Handfield and his son take the stage.” – Fodors.com
